The 2007 world cup was very much forgetteble as we didn't even qualified for 'Super8'. But the 2011 world cup was a whole new begging. The team had a good looking squad including Sachin tendulkar, Zaheer khan, Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag, Mahender Singh Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, Ashish Nehra and some more talented youngsters. We were alloted group B with four other full members(South africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh) and two associate members (Ireland and Netherlands). As we cohosted the tournament with Sri lanka and Bangladesh, we had the privilage of kicking off the tournament. We had our first match with Bangladesh, the same team who threw us out in the group stage itself in the last world cup. So we had got some settlememt to do. We were sent to bat first and frankly speaking, we nailed it. We made 370 for 4 in 50 overs, with a huge contribuation coming from Virender Sehawag who made 175 in 140 balls. They were speechless to this giant score and gathered 283 runs only after losing 9 wickets. This was a good fight back though, but the important thing was that we got our revenge. Sehwag was declared the man of the match and we were two point up on the points table.
